Family Housing Stability & Eviction Prevention Services
Facing Eviction or Housing Instability? They Are Here to Help.
When housing feels uncertain, navigating the system shouldn't be another hurdle. The Tri-Cities Homelessness Initiative has partnered with the Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) to serve as their central coordinating agency for family homelessness and prevention services across Englewood, Sheridan, and Littleton.
Whether you are behind on rent, facing an immediate eviction notice, or currently displaced, our unified network is designed to wrap around your family with immediate financial, legal, and navigation support.
Primary Goal
Stop evictions before they lead to homelessness, keeping your children stabilized and enrolled in their current school districts.
How CEDP Can Support Your Family
Through CEDP, the Tri-Cities Homelessness Initiative can provide comprehensive, in-house resources to help you regain your footing.
Emergency Eviction Prevention & Rental Assistance
Financial support to pay up to 6 months of past-due rent (rental arrears) to stop an active eviction.
Ability to pay the current month’s rent and an additional future month (if processed after the 15th) to give your family room to breathe.
Case-by-case assistance with security deposits, move-in fees, renters insurance, or legal/attorney fees with management approval.
Note for housing subsidies/vouchers: They can only assist with the tenant-owed portion of the rent.
In-House Legal Aid
Free legal representation and tenant advocacy specifically focused on eviction prevention.
Support navigating court documentation, landlord mediation, and addressing severe home habitability issues.
Weekly legal clinics are embedded directly within local courthouses.
Diversion & Rapid Rehousing Services
If an eviction cannot be stopped, they can provide temporary emergency hotel stays paired with intensive case management.
Short-term housing subsidies (up to 3 months plus security deposits) to help families currently living in cars or temporary shelters transition swiftly back into a permanent lease.
Resource Navigation & Benefit Enrollment
One-on-one assistance to get your family connected with local programs, food security (SNAP), or appealing disability cases (SSDI/SSI).
Access to a robust network of 187 community partners across Colorado.
Program Eligibility Guidelines
To qualify for their emergency family housing programs, households must meet the following criteria:
Must be a resident of Englewood, Sheridan, or Littleton, with a preference for households with children enrolled in local school districts.
Household income must be under 50% AMI (Area Median Income) for Arapahoe County based on HUD guidelines. (Priority is given to households at or below 30% AMI).
Must have active proof of housing instability, such as a formal demand for payment from a landlord or a court-ordered eviction notice.
The rental unit must meet HUD Fair Market Rent (FMR) standards or pass a neighborhood comparability review.
